A new home filled with warmth and connection
After years of living independently with her family, Valeria transitioned to Oxa Care in December 2022. Leaving behind familiar surroundings was a significant step, but she quickly found comfort in her new home. With a private room overlooking the garden, decorated with cherished teddy bears, family photos, and her favourite word puzzles, Valeria created a space that reflected her warmth and personality.
More than just a place to live, Oxa Care became a welcoming community where Valeria could embrace her social nature. Whether chatting with fellow residents, enjoying organised luncheons, or participating in special events, she discovered new friendships and a renewed sense of belonging.
A lifetime of cherished memories
Before moving to Oxa Care, Valeria lived in her own unit in Epping with her son Paul before later staying with her daughter Linda. A proud mother of four—Linda, Robert, Paul, and Stephen—she built a life filled with family, hard work, and passion.
Born in Australia, Valeria had a remarkable career as a dressmaker for Christian Dior in Melbourne. Beyond her profession, she loved working alongside her father in the woodyard, chopping wood and loading trucks. Some of her fondest memories include cycling down High Street before the shops were built and caring for the beloved big dogs at her family home.
