Daily Accommodation Payment (DAP)
The DAP is a daily, rental-style fee that respite residents pay to the residential aged care facility for the duration of their stay.
Government-supported care
After undergoing an ACAT assessment, eligible individuals can access subsidised care for planned and emergency respite from the Australian government.
Financial hardship assistance
If you’re experiencing financial hardship with respite care costs exceeding your budget, you may qualify for partial or full funding from the government.
Self-funded
If you are not entitled to government funding, you may have to cover respite fees yourself, which will vary depending on your length of stay.
